101st Avenue Water & Sewer Replacement

Lac La Biche, Alberta

With the existing infrastructure deteriorating, Lac La Biche County engaged V3 for civil engineering design and construction phase services to replace the underground water and sanitary  utilities along a portion of 101 Avenue, a provincial highway right-of-way that is central to the business district in the Hamlet of Lac La Biche. Maintaining through traffic and pedestrian access to businesses during construction was a key requirement, therefore to reduce the need for resurfacing repairs and to eliminate detours, the project design incorporated a combination of open cut, directional drilling and cured-in-place installation methods. The County has since engaged V3’s Planning Group to redesign the streetscape along this stretch of roadway.
