Highlights of the proposed improvements include:
- The project is located in St. Charles, IL and centers
on the intersection of IL Route 64 (Main Street) and
Randall Road.
- The work will include the widening of both roadways
to include exclusive right turn lanes and double left
turn lanes.
- IL Rte. 64 will have two through-lanes in each direction
and Randall Road will have three through-lanes in
each direction.
- New sidewalks and bike paths will be constructed
along with a ninety-foot long pedestrian underpass
at the north end of the project.
- New street lighting, traffic signals with interconnection
and emergency preemption systems, and raised landscaped
medians are also planned.
- An at-grade railroad crossing owned by the Union
Pacific Railway, located on Randall Road south of
Dean Street will also be reconstructed.
