Civil Engineering Project Manager

Sherwood Park, Alberta

Build Your World, Build Your Career …

V3 Companies believes in development, both by providing you with a stimulating environment to enhance your professional growth and in transforming the world around us for the better. Our name reflects that commitment to you and those who live, work and play in the special places and communities we help create and sustain: Visio, Vertere, Virtute – The Vision to Transform with Excellence.

From our Edmonton-area office, V3 engages in a range of planning, land and site development and municipal infrastructure improvement projects throughout Alberta and other western Provinces. Our fast-growing firm will provide you with a variety of opportunities to deploy your civil engineering skills on an assortment of project types for both private and municipal clients. We believe that the worst thing is to pigeonhole talent. Instead, we prefer to provide the means for you to discover what it is that you do best and what suits your goals for your ongoing career.

Our team is the most important asset that walks in our door, and we are committed to providing the resources, mentorship and training to launch our team members to the next level. As a Project Manager in our firm, we’ll expect you to convey your experience and transfer your knowledge, skills and techniques to help develop our entire team and enrich your working day.

As the face and representative of V3, everything you do will play a critical role in helping us truly live our Core Values: Dedication to Employees, Unwavering Integrity, Commitment to Excellence and Focus on clients. Without people like you we can’t succeed. Let’s build your career together, and a great company and projects of which we’re all proud.

Here’s how you fit into the V3 Team:

  • Lead project teams that design and draft grading, stormwater management and infrastructure improvement plans for land development and municipal projects.
  • Supervise the creation of unit price schedules and cost estimates, as well as construction contract and specification documents.
  • Work closely with project teams – including sub-consultants – in both the design and construction phases of a project.
  • Serve as the client liaison, interacting directly with clients on all aspects of the projects you lead.
  • Oversee all facets of project performance, including staff allocation and schedule achievement, project quality and assurance, and contract and budget management.
  • Prepare proposals, generate new business from existing or prospective clients, and engage in industry functions for business development and networking purposes.

What more can we tell you?

Our newly-renovated office is located on the western edge of Sherwood Park, close to Anthony Henday Drive and about 20 minutes from downtown Edmonton. Our projects that you’d be engaged in typically are built in and around Edmonton and other northern Alberta municipalities.

The job features competitive pay and paid time off and a comprehensive benefits package. However, we think a real difference maker is our collegial team-based environment and the opportunity for you to not get typecast into working on the same type of project over-and-over. Being exposed to both private sector development and municipal infrastructure improvement projects will help you to develop and enhance a diversified skill set. If you thrive on variety, you’ll be excited to join our team.

By now, you’re probably wondering what’s important to us…

If you’ve visited our website, you can clearly tell that we emphasize our people. As a professional consulting firm, we’re only as good as each member of our combined team.

Not being the biggest firm in Edmonton, each hire we make is that much more important to us. Of course, we believe in hiring the best people and care about your skills relative to your experience. For example, solid experience managing site development and infrastructure improvement projects and possessing a P.Eng. or P.Tech.(Eng.) designation will be important in this role.

Having an honest and open communication style also is a key trait. Because we are a very “flat organization” without a lot of layers of management, you’ll interact regularly with every staff member, your fellow leaders and the management of V3.

When you join us as a Project Manager, you’ll be a big fish in our pond. So, we place a premium on character and cultural fit. Our win-win scenario is when you’re as happy working with us, as we are when calling you our teammate.
