Make Your Mark, Make a Difference …
You’ve worked hard to get where you are, surmounting challenges, building your skills, becoming an expert in your field. You became an engineer because you relished the opportunity to create a better built world. Our name reflects that same drive and motivation: Visio, Vertere, Virtute – The Vision to Transform with Excellence.
One of V3’s four Core Values – “Commitment to Excellence” – speaks to our calling to provide our clients with technical excellence to meet their objectives and solve their issues. To deliver on that promise, we need to work with the best in our field. That’s where you come in.
From our Edmonton-area office, V3 engages in a range of land development and municipal infrastructure improvement projects throughout Alberta and other western Provinces. Our fast-growing firm will provide you with a variety of opportunities to deploy your civil engineering design skills on an assortment of projects for both private and municipal clients. We don’t put our Senior Designers in boxes, crunching out the same-old, same-old day-in-and-out. If you relish variety, new challenges and diverse project dynamics, we’re the place for you.
We also put great stock in being mentors, helping those around us reach the next level in their careers. You’re our kind of person if you’re motivated to help develop an eager, highly-engaged group of young professionals. In doing so, you’d help us meet another Core Value – “Dedication to Employees.” You’ll be an integral part in helping to build your fellow team members, better places and a great company.
Here’s how you fit into the V3 Team:
- Execute a variety of engineering assignments that require an advanced level of skill within the broad field of civil engineering, and more specifically site development or municipal infrastructure improvements … and preferably both.
- Contribute extensively to project planning activities to achieve prescribed objectives within budget guidelines.
- Lead design efforts on specific projects, assigning tasks to junior design and drafting team members.
- Evaluate completed work and deliverables for quality and completeness, providing detailed QA/QC reviews of other team members’ work.
- Serve as a mentor for junior design team members, providing advice and approaches to solve technical issues.
- Advise Project Managers of project-specific alternatives to improve design solutions and increase engineering performance and efficiency.
- Engage in high-level project review to respond to Requests for Proposals from clients.
What more can we tell you?
You will be considered a key leader of our team, a “go-to” person to provide insight and guidance to our designers and technologists. Your contribution to the growth of our firm will be critical as you build the skill sets of those around you. How far you ascend in the organization will be up to you, your goals and your expertise … any path you want to take will be given full consideration.
As to logistics, our newly-renovated office is located on the western edge of Sherwood Park, close to Anthony Henday Drive and about 20 minutes from downtown Edmonton. Our projects that you’d be engaged in typically are built in and around Edmonton and other northern Alberta municipalities.
The job features competitive pay and paid time off, the potential for overtime pay, and a comprehensive benefits package. However, we think a real difference maker is our collegial team-based environment and the opportunity for you to further develop your professional skills.
By now, you’re probably wondering what’s important to us…
Our website clearly communicates how much we emphasize our people. As a professional consulting firm, we’re only as good as each member of our combined team. For this specific position, we’re seeking a seasoned P.Eng. with a background in site development and infrastructure improvements. As important to us, however, is to find someone who takes great pride in solving design issues and sharing their knowledge with others. Teamwork isn’t just a label at V3.
Not being the biggest firm in Edmonton, each hire we make is that much more important to us. We believe in hiring the best people and care about your skills relative to your experience, but we also place a premium on character and cultural fit. Our win-win scenario is when you’re as happy working with us, as we are when calling you our teammate.
