Scope of Activities

The successful applicant will function as an Engineering Student on a variety of land development, transportation, and municipal improvement projects during the construction season. Depending on experience level and demonstrated capabilities, tasks include:

• Construction staking / topo survey utilizing Leica and Trimble GPS / total station
• Performing as-built surveys for underground utility and roadway projects
• Construction monitoring, inspection and interpretation of design drawings
• Attend and participate in site meetings and formal inspections
• Contractor / municipality / client coordination and liaison
• Preparation of progress payment certificates and inspection reports
• Working with Project Managers in administration of design and construction projects.

Depending on workloads, there may be opportunities for:

• Assisting in design and drafting of grading, stormwater management and infrastructure improvement plans for land development, transportation, and municipal projects, utilizing Civil3D.
• Performing earthwork calculations and surface analysis for earth balance evaluations and contractor payment benchmarks during construction.
• Assisting in generating construction contract and specification documents.

Position Details:

• Position will be based out of Sherwood Park.
• Relevant experience and a working knowledge of Civil 3D and surveying practices is advantageous.

Term of Employment: May – August 2026
