Eola Road Realignment PSI & CCDD

Aurora, Illinois

  • V3 completed a preliminary site investigation (PSI) and clean construction demolition debris (CCDD) evaluation to further investigate recognize environmental conditions (RECs) identified during the preliminary environmental site assessment (PESA) and to achieve the following objectives:

  • Determine if soils generated from trenching activities within the project limits meet the criteria for CCDD.

  • Delineate soils (to the extent economically feasible) which meet CCDD criteria.

  • Generate waste profile reports for impacted soils that do not meet CCDD criteria so these impacted soils can be transported as non-special waste during construction without stockpiling soils.

  • ┬áThe scope of work executed for the project included coordinating with drilling contractor; completing utility clearance, preparing a heath and safety plan, collecting soil samples; screening soil samples with a portable photoionization detector (PID), describing soil samples using the Unified Soil Classification System, recording soil descriptions and PID readings on boring logs, submitting soil samples to laboratory for analysis of contaminants of concern, evaluating soil analytical data, writing the PSI report and completing CCDD evaluation forms and analyzing soil samples which did not meet the CCDD criteria for waste profile characterization parameters and complete waste profiles.
