This project included more than 1,000 meters of aging sanitary sewer that was being infiltrated by groundwater and at risk for structural failure. To assist in the rehabilitation, Lac La Biche County engaged V3 for civil engineering design services. Our team outlined a trenchless relining method as well as provided a contingency design for two open cut excavations in the locations where the existing sewer was at risk for structural failure. During the construction, it was determined that the open excavations would not be necessary, eliminating excavation and surface restoration costs on this project. In addition to the cost savings, the project was completed with minimal impact on the community and with no interruption to traffic along this Alberta Transportation highway right-of-way.
