Skokie Drainage Ditch Stabilization

  • The Skokie River project involves the stabilization or severely eroding streambanks along a one-mile section of the Skokie River in Lake Forest.

  • The purpose of the project is to protect private properties and infrastructure from damage due to erosion and proposes streambank stabilization of 10,266 linear feet along the east and west banks of the Skokie River.

  • Stabilization activities include 3,986 linear feet of gabions, 5,344 linear feet of natural or stone toe protection and 936 linear feet of bank reshaping.

  • As part of the construction process, V3 conducted a soil sampling for clean construction demolition debris disposal of excess soils generated from the installation of gabions.
