Piper Glen Single Family Community
Piper Glen was created to provide a thoughtfully planned residential community that combines quality housing with accessible recreation and resilient infrastructure. This 131-acre development features 326 single-family homes connected by a walking path linking public spaces to a park with a tot lot and a 15-foot sledding hill. Our role focused on delivering innovative civil and structural engineering solutions, managing complex stormwater challenges, and ensuring safe transportation and utility systems for long-term community sustainability.
Key Contributions:
Site Design & Amenities
We designed a community layout that integrates a walking path and park amenities, including a sledding hill and tot lot, to create a connected and active neighborhood.
Stormwater Management
We engineered basins and conveyance systems to manage flow from more than 800 acres, lowered floodplain elevations to protect homes, and created naturalized detention areas that support local habitats.
Regulatory Coordination
We worked closely with the Village of Oswego, Fox Metro Water Reclamation District, Illinois DNR, and FEMA to secure approvals for this complex project.
Transportation Infrastructure
We designed roadway widening for Wolf’s Crossing Road and coordinated with the Village’s long-term plans to minimize future rework.
Utility Design
We extended the Fox Metro sanitary sewer interceptor and implemented innovative solutions, such as placing watermain below sewers, to avoid costly lift stations and maintain utility functionality.
