Ted Feenstra, Jr., P.E., LEED, AP BD+C

Current Role

Ted is responsible for the oversight of the Land Development Practice Area and the delivery of residential, commercial, recreational and institutional projects from feasibility through final design, permitting and construction.

Experience & Education

Ted has 28 years of civil engineering experience, primarily on site development projects. He Joined V3 companies in 1998 and focuses on civil engineering of site development projects. He is proficient in storm water management and hydrologic/hydraulic design and has completed projects requiring approvals from IDOT, INDOT, FEMA, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Indiana Department of Environmental Management, various county stormwater management commissions, highway departments, USACE and various municipalities.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Calvin College, and is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Washington, Wisconsin and Alberta, Canada. He is registered with both National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying – US and International. Ted is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Lambda Alpha International and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

Current Role

As the President & CEO, Lou provides leadership for all aspects of the firm’s operations with an emphasis on strategic goals, growth and shareholder return on investment. He actively builds industry and market relationships while also fostering V3’s culture and maintaining the firm’s core values.

Experience & Education

Lou began his career as a bridge design engineer. He then spent 15 years in construction management on major highway, railroad, aviation and facilities projects in the greater Chicago area, followed by oversight of both design and construction services for all of V3’s public sector operations. Prior to being named as V3’s President & CEO, Lou was responsible for firmwide business development for several years. He is a recognized leader in the industry and serves on the Board of Directors for several professional associations.

He graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. Lou is active in the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois, the Illinois Road & Transportation Builders Association, American Public Works Association and Engineers Without Borders. He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Illinois.
