Air Quality Data Collection & Analysis

The Rockford Metropolitan Area consists of multiple rapidly growing north-central Illinois counties. In order to plan for future transportation improvements, the Region 1 Planning Council partnered with our team to design a comprehensive air quality monitoring and analysis program.
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS:
Air Quality Program Management
The program included monitoring of National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) pollutants, including Ozone, Carbon Monoxide, Particulate Matter, and Nitrogen dioxide. We installed and performed maintenance on eight AQMesh air sensors with solar panels and a meteorological monitor in Boone, Ogle, and Winnebago counties.
Detailed Reporting & Communication
Monthly reports described trends and relevant observations from the air monitoring data. The reports included charts and tables comparing the data to the NAAQS and to pollutant concentrations at nearby monitors.
