Andrick Ponds Stormwater Analysis Control Project
V3 led the Andrick Ponds stormwater analysis project, selected by the Colorado Division of Wildlife for implementation of habitat enhancement within the South Platte Watershed. Funded by a state grant and managed by the local watershed development agency in collaboration with Ducks Unlimited and Colorado Division of Wildlife staff, the project aimed to improve existing ponds and wetlands. These areas, historically irrigated through water rights, faced challenges due to makeshift drainage channels and an aging earthen dam. V3 design/build services focused on enhancing water management to handle peak storm flows and irrigation needs efficiently. The project included a comprehensive topographic survey to better understand and address the site’s complex drainage system.

DenverAdditional Info
- V3 prepared hydrologic/hydraulic evaluation of the site to understand the sizing of water control structures and overflow routing to effectively manage water during storm event conditions
- V3 used the water resources evaluation to help alleviate stability concerns of the existing dam structure due to overtopping of the earthen berm. Routing of inflow/outflow of irrigation waters was better managed through construction of clear ditches and multi-directional water control structures that could send irrigation waters to various ponds and channels through the site
- V3 performed construction of the earthwork, storm sewer utilities, water control structures, and native plant and seed for the implementation of the Andrick Ponds Stormwater Analysis Water Control project.
