Riverside Adventure Park Survey
Expanding equitable access to recreation and reimagining a historic urban park shaped the redevelopment of Riverside Regional Park along the White River in Indianapolis. Our team supported IndyParks’ vision for a new adventure park by providing detailed survey data to inform conceptual design and future improvements across this large, diverse site.
Key Contributions:
Aerial Topographic Survey
We conducted a low altitude unmanned photogrammetric aerial topographic survey of the 223 acre site, capturing comprehensive surface data to support planning and design.
Survey Control & Data Accuracy
Our team established aerial survey targets and measured them using survey grade GNSS equipment to ensure accurate control across the property.
Integrated Ground & Aerial Survey
We performed traditional ground surveys of improved areas concurrently with aerial data collection, integrating both datasets into a single, coordinated survey base.
Site Feature Mapping
Existing paths, parking areas, and pond limits were mapped using ortho rectified aerial imagery coordinated with measured ground control.
Field Verification & Quality Control
To confirm accuracy, field crews completed ground truthing throughout the site, verifying improvement locations, drainage features, low points, and path slopes.
