Sheetz

As the first Sheetz restaurant and fuel center in Central Ohio, our team coordinated with multiple stakeholders to ensure the new site met all of the brand’s standards and site priorities in this new, unfamiliar market. The project required surveying and demolition of the previous boat sales lot prior to the construction of the new 6,000-square-foot building, eight-pump fuel center, and surrounding parking lot. In addition, approximately 280 feet of public connector road and sidewalk was designed along the southern portion of the site to serve future development in the Columbus metro area.

Project Highlights:

  • This project included the construction of private water and sanitary services, along with a moderate private storm sewer network to maintain drainage throughout the property.  An extended dry detention basin was designed to meet both water quality drawdown and water quantity detention requirements set by both the City of Delaware and the Ohio EPA.
  • Maintenance of traffic plans were provided for the intersection work and utility connections requiring a lane closure on US Route 36/State Route 37.
  • Throughout the design process, coordination was required with the City of Delaware engineering staff to plan for the future widening of US Route 36/State Route 37 along the property frontage.
