Union Station Transit Center
Union Station is Chicago’s major transportation hub. To further support commuters and travelers, our team provided construction engineering services for a $25 million transit center located adjacent to the station. The project included three bus lanes with associated ADA-accessible boarding platforms, glass and steel canopy structures, a CTA support building, a glass and stainless-steel elevator and stair enclosure, and an underground pedestrian tunnel linking the facility to the south concourse of Union Station. In addition to providing contract administration and construction observation, we developed numerous civil, structural, and environmental field modifications during construction to keep the project on schedule. This transit center now stands as a convenient, efficient point for Chicago travelers to start or end their journeys.
