Wolf Road Shared-Use Path Design
The Wolf Road Shared-Use Path project enhances pedestrian safety and connectivity by linking Ogden Avenue (US Route 34) to the Bemis Woods Forest Preserve trail system via a new 10-foot-wide path. As the design consultant, we led Phase II engineering to deliver a safe, accessible, and well-integrated trail within existing easements, coordinating with multiple agencies to ensure compliance and alignment with broader infrastructure improvements.
Key Contributions:
Easement Coordination
We designed the path within permanent easements along Wolf Road and the Forest Preserves of Cook County, ensuring minimal disruption and efficient use of available space.
Safety & Accessibility Enhancements
We improved pedestrian safety by designing ADA-compliant features and integrating high-visibility crosswalks and wayfinding signage.
Agency Collaboration
We coordinated with IDOT, Cook County, and FPDCC throughout Phase II and III, aligning our work with IDOT’s concurrent safety project along Ogden Avenue.
