Dormie Club sits quietly within 1,000 acres of rolling pine forest in the North Carolina Sandhills, home to a secluded Coore & Crenshaw–designed course known for its pure, uninterrupted golf experience. The club set out to elevate that experience by adding new lodging and amenities that feel crafted, modern, and closely tied to the landscape.

We created a comprehensive master plan and detailed design to bring this vision forward. Every component was shaped to complement the existing course, highlight the natural character of the site, and strengthen Dormie Club’s identity as a premier golf retreat. The expanded amenities enhance the guest experience while reinforcing the club’s commitment to genuine hospitality and course‑driven golf.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS:

Master Planning
Our team created an overall master plan that integrates new facilities seamlessly into the existing 1,000-acre course, preserving its serene character while elevating the member experience.

Clubhouse Design
We designed a new clubhouse featuring a restaurant and pro shop, positioned to capture sweeping views across the course and overlook the 18th green, creating a stunning focal point for gatherings and relaxation.

Stay-and-Play Cottages
We planned fifteen strategically located cottages throughout the course to provide unencumbered views of golf holes, woods, native grasses, and sand, offering members a private and immersive retreat.

Collaborative Approach
We worked closely with the client and architect to craft a destination that blends Southern charm with modern amenities, ensuring a unique and memorable golf experience.
