Lakeview Crescent Rehabilitation
V3 provided comprehensive engineering services for the utility and roadway replacement within Lakeview Crescent in Lac La Biche County. The project involved replacing 650 meters of watermain, 550 meters of sanitary sewer, 46 lot services, relining 60 meters of storm sewer, and reconstructing a storm outfall structure. Given the deteriorating infrastructure, including vitrified clay tile sanitary sewers and a mix of cast iron and asbestos cement watermains, the project was essential. Site access was limited, requiring a detailed phasing and access plan to maintain resident access, garbage collection, and emergency services. The project was executed in four phases, including a temporary ice road over Lac La Biche Lake for storm outfall access. Environmental assessments were conducted due to the lake’s proximity, addressing aquatics, wetlands, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, strategies were developed to protect, repair, or replace existing private retaining walls above the water and sewer services.
