Washington Street at Canadian National Railroad Grade Separation
Our team provided Phase III construction engineering services for the reconstruction and widening of Washington Street and the construction of a CN railroad underpass. The underpass features a 100-foot, single-span thru girder bridge with two tracks. The project also involved lowering the roadway significantly, constructing approximately half a mile of retaining wall, relocating utilities, and building a new stormwater pump station. Additionally, a temporary Metra boarding platform, traffic signal modifications, and pedestrian walks were part of the scope to enhance connectivity to the METRA train station.
