Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park Trail Drainage Improvements
The wetlands within this park were facing significant challenges due to flooding and elevated water levels, which were adversely affecting the surrounding forestry and park infrastructure, including trails, an electrical transformer, and a nearby asphalt road.
To address these issues, we played a pivotal role in restoring the park’s natural balance and protecting its infrastructure. Our team conducted a comprehensive site assessment, developed a detailed design, and managed the construction process. We also coordinated essential survey, environmental, and geotechnical services to ensure a holistic approach to the project.
Construction Administration: We oversaw the clearing of 1,800 square metres, the application of 1,100 square metres of topsoil and seed, and the installation of a 20-metre culvert to facilitate effective drainage.
Site Assessment and Design: Our experts identified deadfall blockages and determined the optimal drainage route to maintain proper water levels and prevent future flooding.
