Summer Interns
We welcomed 25 interns across our five regional offices this summer, and we loved getting to work with talented students. These future engineers, scientists, and surveyors got to work alongside our experts in the field; we can’t wait to see what they do next!
REVITALIZE
The Summer Olympics inspired our REVITALIZE committee to plan gold-medal events for our team! Companywide, we embarked on our third walking challenge of the year. Participants were randomly assigned to teams with weekly step goals. Congratulations to Team Poland — Rima Bauer, Aaron Geckle, Kass Miftari, Brian Rismiller, and Kelly Roberts — who reached the podium with 1,426,960 total team steps!
In addition to the walking challenge, several teams organized office Olympics events, with creative challenges such as chair relay races, fruit roll-up eating contests, bulldozer team challenges, and more.
VSR
V3’s Social Responsibility (VSR) program was in the spotlight this summer, as V3 was profiled in ACEC’s Engineering Inc. magazine! The article recognized our commitment to volunteerism and how giving back to the communities where we live and work is crucial to who we are.
In staying true to our “Service to Community” core value, we found several VTO opportunities over the past few months, including Columbus’s Licking County River cleanup and Charlotte’s World Cleanup Day event.
Fun Committee
Long summer days mean numerous ways for our team to have fun together! Our regional offices planned unique family fun days where employees could enjoy time with both coworkers and loved ones.
This summer we:
- Braved rollercoasters at Six Flags and Cedar Point
- Cheered for our local baseball team
- Ziplined through the forest
- Rode bikes with Lou
- Cruised around town on a pedal bar
- Hit the links and drained some putts
- Made heaping piles of waffles for National Waffle Day
