We are thrilled to share that John Hilborn, P.E., has joined V3 as our Rail Engineering Leader. In this role, John will oversee our expert rail design team, using his expertise to continue growing our railroad services as we help connect communities across North America.
John has 25 years of experience in railroad engineering, with a strong background in track maintenance and construction, track design, engineering, and public project management. His expertise also extends to commercial and industrial site development, often supporting railroad-related industrial projects.
He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, New Jersey, Indiana, and Illinois, and is an active member of AREMA, reflecting his deep industry involvement and technical leadership.
John earned his degree from Ohio University and is passionate about delivering practical, well-designed solutions that support both infrastructure and development needs.
Outside of work, John is an avid runner with a goal of completing all six Abbott World Marathon Majors. He has just two races left: London and Tokyo. He and his wife have a blended family with five kids (ages 13, 14, 16, and 17), and they stay busy keeping up with activities. As a family, they enjoy traveling and recently took a road trip to Niagara Falls, Toronto, and Detroit.
John is looking forward to working at V3 and being part of a growing team providing engineering services to the railroad industry.
