Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) committee is proud to offer the 5th year of our Diversity Scholarship! As part of our commitment to build a more diverse workforce, this program supports the next generation of STEM graduates, and this year, we’ve expanded our reach even further.
Giving Back to Future Generations
V3’s Diversity Scholarship program began in 2020 as a way to champion academic success for deserving and diverse students in civil engineering, science, and construction industries programs. We recognized that when students see themselves represented in their chosen profession, their long-term success improves, helping them feel a sense of belonging in the field.
We started by giving four scholarships to UIC students. In addition to financial support, the program included mentoring from our expert team, with career coaching toward interview prep, resume building, professional skills, and more.
Expanding Our Support
As our firm has grown, so has the need to support more up-and-coming talent across regions. For the 2024-2025 school year, our program has increased from one to five universities!
This year’s scholarship is open to students currently attending:
University of Illinois Chicago
Purdue University
The Ohio State University
University of Alberta
The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT)
Scholarships are open to all under-represented (including but not limited to representation in respect of race, sexual orientation, gender expression, expression of religious traditions, or physical or mental disabilities) students who will be enrolled full time in a STEM-related program (including civil engineering, science, survey, planning, landscape architecture, and construction industries) for Fall 2024. Students must be in their sophomore to senior year in good standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Creating a More Inclusive Workforce
In the past five years, we’ve been honored to help eight students with their academic journeys. These graduates have gone on to become engineers, following their dreams.
