We’re thrilled to share that Howard Hamilton, P.E. has joined V3 as our Water Supply and Wastewater Group Leader in Illinois. In his new role, Howard will help advance our water-related expertise and support communities throughout Chicagoland and beyond by delivering sustainable water and wastewater solutions.
Howard brings both deep industry expertise and a personal passion for water and wastewater solutions to our team. He is a licensed civil engineer in six states and in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as a certified wastewater treatment plant operator in Illinois.
Howard’s lifelong dedication to water and wastewater engineering began with his first job at age nine, helping on roadway projects for his family’s firm in Joliet. Over the years, he has led Hamilton Consulting Engineers as President, served as village engineer for multiple communities, and most recently worked with Environmental Design International as Director of Engineering. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, Howard’s true passion lies in planning and delivering sustainable water and wastewater solutions that truly make a difference.
Howard lives in his childhood home, built by his family 62 years ago along Rock Run Creek in Joliet. He writes a blog about maintaining and landscaping the house. Howard and his wife, Kristen, are proud parents of three accomplished adult children. Their daughter, Dr. Aileen Schaaf, is a physical therapist based in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and mother to 2½-year-old Ada. Their daughter, Sean Hamilton, is a horticulturist in Saint Paul, Minnesota, while their son, Richard Hamilton, JD, is employed with a strategic consulting firm in Chicago. All three children completed their undergraduate studies at Iowa State University.
Whenever possible, Howard and family escape to their family cabin on Moose Lake in Ely, MN, just a stone’s throw from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) where they fish, boat, canoe, hike, and camp.
Please join us in welcoming Howard to V3!
