Welcoming the V3 Shareholder Class of 2025

We are thrilled to welcome 16 new V3 shareholders! Being employee-owned, our ongoing success relies on the talent, passion, and unique perspectives of our team members, and this year’s shareholder class reflects the entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence that define our firm. Congratulations to the 2025 shareholders!

Meet our newest shareholders

Rachael Berthiaume, P.E., LEED AP BD+C, Project Manager II | 28 years of experience

Rachael has been an integral member of the V3 Environmental Group for 28 years and has helped establish the standard of excellence that defines the group to this day.  She provides consulting, project management, and technical experience in environmental engineering and hydrogeology throughout Chicagoland, including award-winning projects along the North Branch of the Chicago River. Outside of work, she likes to hang out with friends and try different restaurants around Chicago. She’s also an intermediate violin player.

Robert Cream, P.Surv, ALS, CLS, CST, Edmonton Survey Group Leader | 40 years of experience

Robert joined V3 in 2024 as our Canada Survey Group Leader and has had an immediate impact. He approaches his work with an attitude of collaboration and mentorship and brings deep experience and knowledge of legal survey to the Edmonton office. His patience and willingness to share knowledge has helped grow our planning and engineering team’s skillsets. Outside of work, Rob is a rock & roll enthusiast and he works with his daughter on “The Project,” a creative endeavor in which they make track lists and album artwork concepts for an alternative timeline where The Beatles didn’t break up in 1970.

Steve Fox, P.E., CPESC, Senior Project Manager | 25 years of experience

Steve is a Columbus-area leader in the design of commercial, residential, and municipal projects with a wide range of land development responsibilities. He has become a valuable mentor and leader for the Columbus Land Development Group, supporting our young group of professionals. Steve has also brought a new wave of clients to V3, giving us a greater variety of land development opportunities to fuel our continued growth in the region. Outside of work, he enjoys the never-ending process of perfecting his golf game.

Brian Haggard, P.S., Senior Project Manager | 31 years of experience

Brian has made a significant impact within our Indiana Region through his collaborative mindset, consistently fostering teamwork and open communication across service lines. His unwavering dedication to quality as a licensed survey Senior Project Manager has elevated our standards and helped us deliver exceptional results to clients throughout the region. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling and spending time with family.

Stephanie Holland, PLA, Senior Landscape Architect | 15 years of experience

Stephanie consistently uplifts staff by providing reliable support and mentorship, creating space for others to perform at their best. Her attentiveness and proactive mindset foster a culture of trust and collaboration that strengthens the entire team. She is a positive force that believes something good can come from any situation, resulting in highly successful outcomes for both her team and clients. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys working in her garden, hiking, going on nature scavenger hunts with her two kids, and visiting with neighbors. 

Steve Jandick, P.E., Resident Engineer I | 14 years of experience

Steve started at V3 in the transportation design group and has since excelled in our construction engineering practice. Through this diverse background, Steve possesses the unique and valuable ability to pull together designers and construction folks for a more seamless and productive project. This skill has been invaluable to our projects and clients, most notably on the Illinois Tollway I-294 O’Hare Western Bypass as well as the Joliet Alternative Water Project, two hugely impactful projects. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, snowboarding, and long walks on the banks of the DuPage River with his dogs.

Patrick Jennings, P.E., Resident Engineer I | 13 years of experience

Patrick brought his experience as a former Union Pacific Railroad employee to V3 and his construction management experience on railroads has had an immediate impact on our rail project delivery, most notably on our major project with Metra. He has also excelled as the Resident Engineer on the high-profile I-490 project for the Illinois Tollway. Along with his industry knowledge and work ethic, one of the most valuable attributes Patrick brings to V3 is his infectious positive attitude. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three daughters, along with woodworking, reading science-fiction, and time in the gym.

Matt Kwiatkowski, PLS, Denver Survey Group Leader | 36 years of experience

Matt recently rejoined our team as the Survey Group Leader in Denver after a several year hiatus. As a previous shareholder with us, his survey expertise and mentoring have left a lasting impact, and his experience and knowledge provide a solid foundation for building our survey group in the Denver region. From leading field operations and mentoring team members to driving high-stakes projects with technical excellence, Matt’s leadership continues to elevate our standards and strengthen our reputation. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, cycling, running with his dogs, road trips through the Rocky Mountains, and spending time with his kids and their families.

Sean Ludwig, Resident Construction Manager II | 24 years of experience

Sean has developed into one of the leaders in our construction engineering practice over the past 24 years. Hard work, ethics, mentorship, and teamwork are just a few of the qualities he has brought to our team. He is also one of the league leaders in outstanding client service that results in repeat work. Outside of work, Sean and his family are passionate about baseball, football, and golf. They love traveling and are on a mission to visit every Major League Baseball stadium across the country.

Zaida Morillo, P.E., S.E., Chicago Structural Group Leader | 22 years of experience

Zaida has elevated our structural services since joining us as our Chicago Region Structural Group Leader and overall Structural Technical Lead. Her combination of technical skills and industry knowledge has grown our capabilities and our team by securing new and challenging projects. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her two daughters at their sporting and dance performances, relaxing at their cottage in Traverse City, Michigan, watching Formula 1 car racing, gardening, playing volleyball, and dining out.

Noah Nemmers, P.E., Denver Regional Leader | 25 years of experience

Noah rejoined our team in 2024 as our Denver Regional Office Manager and has brought immediate growth and success across the firm through his engineering talent, technological savvy, and sharp business instincts.  His strong leadership and experience in the Denver Region are already making a difference with a diverse operation of multidisciplinary transportation, infrastructure, energy, and large-scale land development projects. Outside of work, he loves spending quality time with his wife and their two teenage daughters, as well as welding, woodworking, running, and being a snow skiing coach at Loveland Ski Area.

David Powlen, Senior Project Manager | 37 years of experience

David is an experienced Land Development leader in our Greenville, South Carolina office who has played a pivotal role in mentoring our Charlotte and Greenville team, always ready to share his years of knowledge, offer guidance, and help others grow with confidence. His supportive leadership has created a stronger, more collaborative environment where junior staff feel empowered and valued. He truly has the heart of a teacher. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, working in the yard, and planning long weekend trips to all the great places within a short drive of Greenville, SC.

Julie Schilling, LPG, Indianapolis Regional Leader/Environmental Group Leader | 14 years of experience

Julie took an impactful step forward in her career as our Regional Leader in Indiana providing overall leadership, guidance, and support to one of our fastest growing regions. She has demonstrated her value through her deep market relationships, her environmental remediation expertise, and her strong leadership. Outside of work, she enjoys chilling out with her two cavies, Ellie and Tricksy, and traveling. Julie and her husband, John, have been taking dance lessons for the last six months and will be entering their first competition in August, highlighting their salsa, bachata, meringue, and swing skills.

Jon Shuptar, P.G., Project Manager I | 19 years of experience

Jon has been a key member of our environmental practice. His broad expertise brings leadership to environmental projects across multiple markets, serving clients with Municipal, Transportation, and Commercial Real Estate projects. He is known for his great internal collaboration as well as his outstanding service to our clients. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, taking road trips, connecting with friends, outdoor concerts, and mastering stereotypical “dad” skills, such as auto repair, grilling, basic carpentry, home repair, and more.

Shannon Simpson, Branding & Communications Manager | 25 years of experience

Shannon has consistently grown as a marketing communications leader over her long career in our marketing group, and her passion for our values and growth model has been a model for others. In the past few years her strategic leadership and execution have elevated our marketing brand across multiple platforms, playing a meaningful part in our accelerated growth and success across the country. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her family, floating in her pool in the summer, playing with her cat, Cali Francis, and keeping up on her photography skills.

Sean Snowden, P. Eng, Edmonton Transportation and Municipal Services Group Leader | 26 years of experience

Sean has jumped into his Transportation leadership role in the Edmonton office with both feet, focusing on mentoring and growing our team while collaborating with all service lines, and sharing his network towards being a driver in business development for the region. Outside of work, he enjoys watching and playing hockey. His preferred position is left wing, and his favorite player is Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, from the Oilers of course!
